Rezumat

The authors report a highly probable case of Gardner-Diamond Syndrome in Congo Brazzaville affecting a 20 year-old female student admitted at the day hospital for mucous hemorrhagic syndrome. After questioning and examination, the findings were as follow:

-history of repeated mucous hemorrhages for 3 years as menometrorrhagia

-on admission she had ocular and nasal bleeding

- the laboratory investigations revealed: moderate anemia, normal platelets count with no morphological abnormalities, the prothrombin time and the activated partial thromboplastin clotting time were normal as well as the platelet function assay.

The treatment included iron supplementation associated with tranexamic acid and psychotherapy.

The outcome is marked by the immediate stop of bleeding and the absence of recurrent episodes in the following two months.

This observation reports a pathology less described in Black Africa and draws the attention of health practitioners on the diagnosis and management of this rare pathology.
